What to wear, who to bring

What to wear, who to bring

As is usual for us, we're trying to bridge the gap between fanciness and informality. This day is a chance for us to celebrate with you. Here's how we can be sure it'll be a great day (or three!).

Everyone is welcome

Of course we'd like to keep it a relatively intimate day - the people we love the most with us in a beautiful place. But if you have a partner or children, they are of course welcome to attend. If we find we have several children joining us, we might even arrange for a babysitter! (Also, dogs welcome, just keep them on their leads!)

September in East Hampton is beautiful

It's golden and warm during the day, and cools off at night. So wear sunscreen, and bring a wrap, sweater or jacket for the evening. If it looks like it'll be especially sunny, we may even provide parasols just in case.

And if, for some reason, the weather is not quite so favorable - the tent will have lights, side-walls and heaters. If it's inclement, we'll notify you of the venue change in advance.

We'll be in a field! By the beach!

Some of you are hard core and can handle heels and wedges in the grass - but the ground is not perfectly flat, and it is in a field, near a bluff by Gardiner's Bay, so if you're not sure you can get around in heels, wear flats. The field will be mowed and tidied up before we arrive, and we will stock some organic bug repellent just in case, but if you have a favorite brand, you're welcome to bring your own.

Have a room/Get a room

UPDATE: One of our gracious guests, the fabulous Christian Svanes Kolding sends word of two possibly available airbnb locations very near the wedding site:

i've connected with jonathan, the owner of this cottage:  https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/548710 before we booked the other cottage - it's a two minute walk from the farm and available for a 3-night booking for the wedding. he had pre-approved us but i let him know that we're not going to take it.

and then there's this particular place located about three miles south - at louse point - https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/6054811 ...

We've posted a list of hotels, motels, inns, and bed & breakfasts in the area that have some availability, as well as to a set of homes and rooms for rent via airbnb.

If you've got a spare room that you can offer to someone, please do. If you are in need of a spare room, check here to find one (in the comments).

Everything's nicer together.

Have a ride/Get a ride

We know that getting out to East Hampton and Springs isn't as simple as hailing an Uber. And not everyone will want to hire a car once you're in East Hampton (It's not necessary! We've provided a list of taxi services in the area that can get you places).

But if the train is not for you, or you want to make a weekend of it and drive out to the beach, please feel free. It's a lovely drive along Route 27.

If you have room in your car, or need a ride, then this is the place to offer a ride, or ask for one (in the comments).
